Drones vs Fireworks: Which one is better for events?

Many people usually look forward to fireworks to celebrate New Years, Independence Day, Bonfire Nights, birthdays or gender reveal parties. But now, people also started using drones which have attracted many people. Obviously, whether drone or fireworks, both are unique in their own ways. The question arises:

Which is better for your event?

The display

As far as the display is concerned, fireworks are very visually appealing and colorful showing a vibrant display. Moreover, the sound associated with fireworks enhances the experience to a new level. Fireworks are preferred to watch from a great distance for a better display. This is exciting both for adults as well as children giving them a treat to watch.

For drones, they do not create a loud sound, drones are typically quiet as well. They combine creativity through the visuals, 3D display etc and provide creativity through personalised shapes of your choice which can be customised.

Select drones if you want to look forward to artistic narration but if you want to go for fun and entertainment, fireworks is the best choice for you.

Personalisation and customisation

Fireworks offer limited options when it comes to customisation. You can choose colour according to your liking, music you want to, or the type you want BUT, you cannot create fonts or any logos.

Whereas drones can easily show a logo, can show different types of animations and you can set the motion accordingly, just as you like it!

Thus, it’s clear who the winner is in terms of creativity.

Effect on the environment

Environment includes the air, the trees, the noise. Fireworks do impact the air as when they are released into the air, smoke is also released which can be dangerous to inhale and also contain many metals such as strontium, barium, aluminum and magnesium.

However, eco-friendly fireworks are the talk of the town these days! They use fuel made of nitrogen and harmful chemicals are not used in them. This means reduced noise and a smaller environmental footprint too!

Drones also have no such environmental impact as they release no smoke, no harmful chemicals or dangerous metals and do not cause any noise. Each firework are used one at a time.

Drones must be recharged before they can be used again.

Safety and security

In terms of safety, fireworks can cause injuries if not dealt with them the right way. Thus, it is strongly preferred to only use fireworks if you have a license! Fireworks should be used in plain, vast area where there are no hometowns or wildlife. To ensure utmost safety, fireworks must be bought from trusted websites or should be light up by licensed people having an experience as well.

Since drones have a connection, there are chances of connectivity issues which can be quite disturbing. Moreover, both drones and fireworks should be released on a clear day, without the risk of a bad weather condition.

However, drone does not cause many damage, only minor inconveniences may occur only.

Noise ratio

Coming to the noise, fireworks produce a huge noise which makes them more visually appealing. However, if you’re disturbed by the noise, fireworks now come as low-sound fireworks as well, creating a low sound as well! So, it is totally up to you what to go for.

The costs

The cost of fireworks vary according to the quality of fireworks you’re buying, the time you want them for, and the type of fireworks you’re going to buy. Typically fireworks, on average cost around £3,000–£10,000 but the cost may depend according to your setup.

Whereas, drones require experienced people to set them up and cost a little more. The average costs of drones are around £10,000–£25,000. The cost is comparatively greater due to its setup cost and much more since drones can be used again as well but fireworks can only be used once.

Restrictions

Fireworks have certain restrictions and laws which need to be followed. In United Kingdom you can use fireworks only between 7am to 11pm and only on special events such as New Year or Independence Day. Only licensed people are allowed to use it and you must be 18 years of age or older to use it, and using fireworks in public places is illegal.

Usage of drones also require certain limitations as they need a registration, an ID to fly them and must fly them lesser than 400 feet in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, you must also keep them at a distance from the people and properties to ensure safety.

Thus, fireworks and drones, both can be used under certain rules and limitations but drones require more rules to be followed.

Places or venues

Fireworks require an open, vast area where there are no towns, no animals as well as fireworks are to be seen from a certain distance. These fireworks cannot be used inside your houses or venues.

Drones have no certain limitations and it can fly in limited areas, they just need an airspace as they take off vertically.

The answer

If you’re an enthusiast looking for amazing colourful visuals and sounds and you’re looking for an affordable entertainment, just go for fireworks.

If you’re looking for a latest, quiet, technological yet creative visuals, drone is your option. The choice is yours!

Just ask yourself and plan ahead the best things for your event!
