The skies were illuminated by spectacular fireworks displays as cities all over the world rang in the new year. Here’s a list of the best fireworks.
In 2025, the celebrated London New Year’s Eve fireworks show — frequently regarded as one of the biggest and most well- known in the world — returned. Highlighting famous sites like Big Ben and the London Eye, the show was eleven minutes long and the fireworks display was seen reflected towards the Thames River. Over 12,000 pyrotechnics and around 420 lights were seen there, and animations depicting significant events from the previous year including Paddington Bear, the Union Jack, and Olympic gold.
The show was captured live which meant that everyone could watch the show as well if they wanted to.
The most popular, Sydney Harbour was also lighted with fireworks at New Years.. At 9 p.m. and midnight, there were two big displays.
Fireworks lightened the roofs all over the sky, even the Sydney Opera House as well as the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Guess what? Robbie Williams was also present as the singer for that night. Roughly 1 million people along the harbor watched the night display, which was seen by numerous people from each over the world.
The skyline along the Huangpu River was illuminated by fireworks on New Year’s Eve in Shanghai, providing a breathtaking picture of the skyscrapers that were nearby.
At Baoshan International Cruise Port, thousands of people gathered along the riverbank to see the fireworks show. A drone display with Chinese lettering and cultural symbol animations was also part of China’s New Year celebrations.
Brazil celebrated the 2025 New Year at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Two and a half million people flocked to the beach, many of them wearing traditional white attire to represent peace and rebirth for the next year and the show lasted about 12 minutes!
Burj Khalifa, the huge building in the world led the Fireworks! Emaar Properties organised the show, which featured lasers, lights, and pyrotechnics.
With over 10,000 drones, the festival also featured an amazing drone performance that set two Guinness World Records for the largest drone forms of a seashell and a tree.
Premium experiences were available in Burj Park and Dubai Mall, and there was a live performance of the Dubai Fountain.
Paris hosted a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration. The Arc de Triomphe became the focal point of the event as thousands of people congregated along the famous avenue. Before fireworks erupted to greet the new year, a stunning light display was projected onto the monument, displaying a countdown to midnight with amazing live performances by some performers including Clara Luciani. This show was about eight minutes long!
As the world’s first major metropolis to greet the New Year, Auckland is well-known for its spectacular fireworks display at the Sky Tower, and this year was no exception.
To witness the sky light up at midnight, thousands of people gathered at the tower and around the waterfront. Many who wanted a better view ascended Auckland’s volcanic peaks, which encircle the city.
A laser light and animation extravaganza, along with breathtaking images projected onto the Harbour Bridge, made this year’s spectacle even more memorable.
