Fireworks are released every year on many events which include Bonfire nights, New Years Eve, Birthdays, Gender reveal parties, traditional celebrations and independence day etc.
If they are so loved worldwide, why are they banned in some countries?
Here are some reasons:
Where are they banned?
- Fireworks are banned in many places in the world. Some of them are:
- Australia
- Singapore

- Also banned in many places in the United States of America including New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Country laws worldwide:
Many countries around the world offer a few laws to be followed

- Australia
Australia only allows short term fireworks, or we may call them “mini fireworks”. These can be used on special occasions.

The United Kingdom only allows people over eighteen years of age to purchase fireworks. BUT, they also have certain restrictions if you’re planning to have a fireworks display. Fireworks are allowed to be light up from 7am to 11pm only.

- India
A universal fact known to the world is India’s pollution scale. The air quality in India has worsened over the past few years considering the rising population. Thus, fireworks are banned in India to keep the environment pollution free from the chemicals and smoke released by fireworks but of course, they can be used on special occasions such as “Holi”.
- Indonesia
Indonesia has also banned fireworks except small fireworks that typically do not cause damage and are enjoyed on a low scale and area only to be used on special occasions.
- Saudia Arabia
Saudia Aradia is strict when it comes to abiding by laws. Fireworks are strictly banned there and violation of these laws may lead to imprisonment of many years as well as a huge fine!
- China
China is a beautiful country with a beautiful history. Unfortunately, fireworks are banned in some places in China due to pollution and a bad air index. Although, people do use fireworks in backward areas in China on a low scale to enjoy themselves on New Years, Bonfire Nights or Independence Day.
Breaking the laws: The consequences
What if you have a license and used your fireworks in a country where the usage is forbidden. That is breaking the law. What if you do not have a license and still used fireworks? That’s also breaking the rules! This can cause you a fortune, a heavy fine that is to be paid in a certain time period. Moreover, this can cause imprisonment as well also leading to cancellation of any license you hold. What happens if a customer purchased fireworks from a seller and those lead to damage of property or injuries or loss of lives? This can cause imprisonment and a case as well. Furthermore, if you sell fireworks in a country which have banned fireworks, that is also against the laws!
There are many places and countries which banned the use of fireworks due to the safety of their people and to avoid any air pollution which may affect the air quality. Some require certain restrictions such as license while other countries have completely banned the use of fireworks. Thus, better to check than to regret!
